Helping Beginners Get Stronger

Please note that this program is 16 weeks long. 8 weeks are with a barbell and 8 week are without a barbell.

This program is designed specifically for beginners. If you have less than two years of lifting experience (or are not familiar with basic barbell movements), this program is for you. Everyone else, please go back to your curls.

Being a beginner is quite frankly, a magical time. It is where you can simultaneously build muscle and burn fat, get stronger doing just about anything and not be judged for doing quarter squats. Like I said, it is a magical time. It is also around this time that you can learn some pretty bad habits.

What am I talking about?

Improper form with a sub-optimal technique that doesn't allow you to utilize the most amount of musculature. Once your body learns a certain pattern, it becomes harder to change once its been ingrained. You want your technique to be efficient to maximize the weight you lift. Besides technique, you also want to learn about nutrition.

Many beginners are told to “GOMAD” (drink a gallon of milk a day) which doesn't at all educate them about nutrition. You want to build sustainable habits early and learn what to eat in order to reach your goal. There will be no dreamer bulks or looking at yourself in the mirror thinking “how did it come to this?”

To quote the immortal Dune, “A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct”.

Setting yourself up for success early makes it easier to sustain those habits later. This is why we are proud to announce our first beginner program with Kizen. There is NOTHING revolutionary here. We don't have any magic tricks. What we do have is effective programming, a wealth of technique videos, clear guidance on nutrition and forming successful habits in the gym.
